Growing Conditions

Zweigelt is a grape variety grown and adored throughout Austria and has many characteristics that make is a sensational compliment to Pinot Noir.

Nose

Aromas of bright Bing cherry with a backdrop of early season strawberries are found on in this lovely bottle Pinot Noir. A subtle aroma of vanilla from the time spent in the new French Oak is present as well.

Palate

The rich color is a result of a ripe vintage and excellent extraction of Pinot Noir and Zweigelt together. The medium palate and the medium to long finish are typical of warmer growing seasons. The cherry aromatics found on the nose follow through on the palate along with flavors of raspberry jam.

Food Pairing

Try pairing it with fish cooked in wine or tomato-based sauce to really bring out the flavors. It also goes well with chicken, duck, or fowl.

Aging

Aged for 18 months in new French Oak.

Harvest

This wine is one of a kind. The varieties were harvested in a field blend, crushed and fermented together.
